This is a coaching position under the guidance of the Head Coach. You do not need to be a former professional player or an established Head Coach. Strong teaching fundamentals, experience with junior players, a willingness to learn and the ability to work within a shared coaching system matter most.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver junior group sessions, private lessons, adult lessons, camps and competition training.
- Learn and apply the academy’s ITF-based teaching methodology under the Head Coach’s guidance.
- Prepare sessions, equipment and courts, then record attendance and player progress.
- Support the Head Coach with training plans, player assessments and tournament preparation.
- Adapt training to each player’s age, level and development goals.
- Communicate professionally with players, parents and colleagues.
- Take part in coach meetings, internal training and academy events.
The academy aims to help coaches progress from delivering its established programme to independently managing sessions, developing competitive players and, over time, taking on senior responsibilities.
Requirements
- Experience: 6+ years
- Languages: English
- At least 6 years of coaching experience
- Professional tennis coaching certification or a relevant educational background
- Experience teaching junior players
- Good tennis technical knowledge
- Working proficiency in English
- Reliability, honesty and strong professional standards
- Willingness to learn the academy’s methodology and work under the Head Coach’s direction
Advantages
ITF, LTA, PTR, USPTA, USTA or other recognised coaching certification; experience in performance tennis, tournament coaching or international academies; a sports-related degree; or knowledge of strength and conditioning.
Salary & benefits
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Salary: CNY 13,000 - 22,000 per month
- Base salary: RMB 13,000 per month after tax, based on 100 working hours per month.
- Guaranteed base salary: If the academy schedules fewer than 100 hours in a month, the full RMB 13,000 is still paid when the coach fulfils their normal duties.
- Additional hours: RMB 150 for each hour worked above 100 hours in a month.
- Advertised salary range: RMB 13,000–22,000 per month, depending on hours, applicable commissions and agreed terms.
- Sales commissions: 3% on a new student’s first course-package purchase, 1.5% on an existing student’s course-package renewal, and 5% on eligible club product sales. Commissions are based on payments received and confirmed by the academy.
- Weekly rest: One day off per week, scheduled around the academy programme.
- Paid annual leave: Seven days per year after one continuous year of employment.
- Accommodation: Provided by the academy at no charge. Meals are not included.
- Work authorisation: The academy will assist eligible candidates with the applicable work permit, residence permit and visa procedures, subject to approval by the Chinese authorities.
- Development: Internal coach training, guidance from the Head Coach and opportunities for salary and responsibility reviews based on performance.
Working hours and sessions are arranged according to the academy’s operational needs. The coach is expected to maintain accurate records, follow approved pricing and payment procedures, protect client information and uphold the academy’s professional standards.
